Reporting to the Director of Television Production I supervised all aspects of the broadcast and motion design team for CBCs’ English language channels…in association with the larger Media Operations and Technology group in order to support original program production for both internal and co-productions. I provided the required level of daily production management and support to regulate the infrastructure required by such a large team. My daily duties include all managing all personal and technical details in support of the design team. I was also responsible for maintaining the departmental budget, identifying and purchasing all of the hardware and software as required as well as recruitment at all levels. 

Additionally I worked with external vendors on project overflow – this allowed me to provide services in conjunction with external production groups on specials projects.

Reporting to the Vice President of Creative Services I was responsible for the near term and long term planning and management of the Creative Services group including the creation and management of the multimillion dollar operating budget. My daily duties include all managing all personal and technical details in support of the design team. 

Additionally I worked with external vendors on project overflow – this allowed me to provide services in conjunction with external production groups on specials projects. In these situations I would coordinate the budget, deliverables, production schedule and the package delivery requirements for each project.

Some notable achievements:

- Re-designed and re-built the Rogers Design Studio taking it from a PC based environment with 6 design stations to a state-of-the-art studio currently with 17 Mac based workstations, multi blade render farm, provided departmental presentation and viewing stations - all designed with an eye on scalability.

- Managed the design, training, related workflow process and the implementation for virtual set technology for Fox Soccer show. 

- Responsible for the creation and management of a 2.1 million dollar operating budget

- Successfully rebranded Sportsnet and OLN, launched City News Channel, FX Canada

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Media Operations I supervised all aspects of the broadcast and motion design team for CBCs’ English language channels…in association with the larger Media Operations and Technology group to support original program production for both internal and co-productions. I provided the required level of daily production management and support to regulate the infrastructure required by such a large team. My daily duties include all managing all personal and technical details in support of the design team. I was also responsible for maintaining the departmental budget, identifying and purchasing all of the hardware and software as required as well as recruitment at all levels. 

Additionally I worked with external vendors on project overflow – this allowed me to provide services in conjunction with external production groups on specials projects such as Nature of Things – Geologic Journey, Love, Hate and Propaganda and the CBC News rebrand. 

Some notable achievements:

- Managed a mixed team of 40 designers

- Provided 2 consecutive years of profitability to CBC Graphic Design Department

- Standardized the CBC Graphic Design facility by providing baseline standards for both hardware and software, introduced scheduled maintenance program and managed the departmental transition to a tapeless environment.

- Researched, produced and provided critical analysis for CBC in support of 3D Television experiments using existing plant technology and identified possible workflows around the production of 3D television production elements.

- Managed the production, implementation and documentation of design and animation elements for the adoption/transition to VizRT for CBC News.

- Proposed and spec’d plans for a News Graphics hub to centralize graphic design for all of CBC English language local news programs.

- Secured $700K internal contract to rebrand CBC Sports (2011).

Reporting to the Vice President of Design, Brand and Creative Services I coordinated the work of our internal broadcast and print design teams for the CTV Creative Agency. Managing a mixed team of designers we were the in-house design, branding and production service that supported all of CTV’s branding and promotional requirements. 

I was also responsible for maintaining the departmental budget, hardware requirements, software requirements as well as recruitment at all levels. I also create and mange all production schedules as required by projects.

Additionally I worked with external vendors on project overflow – this allowed me to provide services in conjunction with external production groups on specials like the Juno’s, CFL Awards etc. In these situations I would coordinate both the deliverables and the package requirements for each project with the VP post and studio services and VP engineering.

Some notable achievements:

- Managed a mixed team of 38 designers

- Was responsible for a 2.5 million dollar operating budget

- Provided specifications to the Olympic Consortium for the IBC design studio including workstations, screening stations, render farm and ingest/delivery hardware and workflow

- Managed the expansion of the CTV Creative Agency studio from 35 to 42 workstations, upgrades to the render farm and provided new executive presentation suite.

Reporting to the Vice president of Post Production I directed the work of the print and broadcast design teams to produce high quality, high volume motion and print design for our internal and external client groups. Other duties included the strategic planning and implementation of various design projects; collaborated with creative directors, producers and various production executives on short form and long form projects. 

Some notable achievements:

- Managed a team of 12 designers

- Partner in the creation and support of revenue generating commercial production division within Creative Services.

- Directed training and established new workflows around MCR automation for snipes and lower thirds pioneering Miranda hardware and software.

I was responsible for all the design and production including creating and pitching the initial concept and then developing a project budget. I was a launch designer with Newsworld and participated in all of Newsworld’s, programming, additionally I worked on Fashion File, Market Place, The Fifth Estate, NHL Awards, CBLT News as well as other network, regional sports and variety programming.
